You may or may not have noticed, but I've changed a few things. The process that brings about these changes can be daunting, frustrating, and to be honest, a bit emotional. But you have to embrace it. Because change can represent progress, learning and growth. And when you know better, you do better.
First change is my business name, Mother F'ing Preneur. After speaking with a handful of different people, I've realized a few challenges that this sassy and moderately offensive name creates.
I was ok with the moderately offensive part. It was a way of self selecting who I worked with. The deal breakers were not being allowed to advertise in various places and restricted access to events.
I admit that I'm a bit sad to change the name, but I'm not willing to close the door on these opportunities. I have to put my tail between my legs and retreat from my sassy name, which I love.
But never fear, I will continue to use it other ways. The sass factor will remain high, but just not in the bold name.
Who knows, maybe I'll come up with another great name. But for now "Danielle Ewalt" works.
Next change, who do I work with, Moms or Women? I've decided to stop stating that I work "with moms". I've recently found that this just wasn't working for me. People were making assumptions that didn't fit the people I worked with. You know when something makes you tense up in your gut? Well this was it for me.
So I tried a new approach. I started telling people I work with "women who want to grow their business." And you know what? It feels great and the response has been amazing.
Owning a business is a never ending process (so annoying, I wish it was easier!). We all must accept that we are constantly growing and changing.
I am always learning so I can better myself and my business. I really eat this stuff up but sometimes it is mentally exhausting and frustrating.
Thanks for sticking with me as I learn and grow!
